How are Tooth-Coloured Fillings Placed?
First the tooth is prepared by cleaning out any areas of decay (i.e. cavities). Then, Dr Helen uses the composite material to fill in those areas completely which restores the structure of the tooth. To harden the material, a special light is used. This makes the material very hard and durable so it can withstand normal biting forces. Then the tooth is shaped and polished to a smooth finish so that it doesn’t rub up unusually against other teeth and affect one’s bite.
